| acongojada's Full Review: Banana Boat Sunless Tanning Soft Medium |
Despite my mixed heritage, I am as pale as pale can be. I don't think being pale is bad, but personally, especially when I get up enough courage to don my bathing suit in public, I feel a little better with a bit of a tan. I don't have much time to bask in the sun, and I do know that the sun has negative effects on skin, so I have always been a self tanner.
Believe me, I have tried almost all of them throughout the years. Some expensive some very cheap. I have found some that I have liked, but never enough to stick with indefinitely, until I found Banana Boat. I have used this product exclusively for a little over a year. Let me tell you why.
No Streaks!!
I use the mousse form of this product. I squirt the mousse onto a sponge brush, brush the mousse onto my skin in a circular motion, wait 5 minutes to dry, and go on about my business. Using this method, I have never had any streaks! Using a sponge brush, which you can find in craft stores and in the craft section at stores such as Walmart, you can totally avoid orange palms too! No more telling your friends that you were painting and got the paint on your hands! Just brush the mousse onto the tops of your hands blending carefully.
Not Too Stinky!!
At first, this product has a light scent. It is not really too bad, but not too pleasant either. After about an hour, the scent seems to disappear, so you won't be bothered to much by it's fragrance. Also, many of the other self tanning products that I have used seem to have the same annoying smell after the tan appears. This products leaves me with no odor at all. No more stinky tans!!
A Couple Of Side Notes
-This product may seem a little sticky at first. After the product dries, the stickiness will go away.
-As I am sure you experienced self tanners know, always exfoliate your skin before self tanning, and go easy on your ankles, elbows, and any other areas that are dryer than the others.
-You can use this product every day or even more until you achieve the color that you want. Then you can reapply every couple of days to maintain your tan. Remember, use a separate sun-block product! This product does not contain sun protection.
-I have sensitive skin, and this product caused no irritation or break-outs that I have experienced with other self tanners.
Is It Worth The Price?
Heck yeah! This product is very inexpensive. I purchased mine for $6.95 and a bottle last approximately one month. Compared to some of the higher priced brands of self tanners, this product in my opinion is a super value. Take it from me, the writer formally known as "Casper". :)
