Note: Since writing this review, this restaurant seems to have changed owners and ambiance... making this review null except for nostalgia of the former experience it was!
Although it may look like a hole in the wall restaurant, you will be warmly greeted by the workers in this glowing little authentic restaurant.
Offering a wide variety of Thai food, there's something that's sure to please everyone (or an alteration that can easily be accommodated). You can choose from different meats to include [beef, chicken, pork, shrimp], rice or noodles, soups and even salads. The best way to go about ordering in a group is to work together so that everything can be shared.
Most portions are more than plentiful and served in a manor so as to share amongst everyone (in the middle of the table, with individual plates set [empty] in front of each person).
Pad Thai is a personal favorite (anywhere) and the Bangkok Kitchen did not disappoint me in any way, their Peanut Curry sauce is also delightful (yet spicy for some). Be sure to note how hot you want your order, so that you can be sure to enjoy it as you'd like.
The service is personable and very attentive, even when the place gets hopping. This is one of those restaurants that's once discovered, you can't help but spread the word. The crowd at some times is reflective of this popularity.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Portland, it may be difficult to find, unless you have the address and are familiar with the area. When making the venture out, the restaurant will jump out at you just after you think you're heading in the wrong direction.
