| LoreenP's Full Review: Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Maker |
For the holidays, I decided to get my daughter the Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Maker. Of course, at that time, it was plastered all over every kids channel for holiday shopping wish lists. I instructed family members to get the refill mixes so there would be lots of devouring.
Well, this was a hit. To this day, we still make the ice cream, and with the warm weather coming, I'm tempted to get an electric one for us grown ups. The only downfall, in a sense, is that each mix makes about 1/4 cup of semi-hard (soft-serve) ice cream, so it's not good for anxious children all standing around wanting to eat all at once. For that, get a large household ice cream maker. This is good for those little moments when parents spend time with thier kids and everyone is laughing at the mess and the icy treat. The mixes are very sweet, and the sprinkles taste waxy, so use your own toppings, but use them quick! The ice cream, consistency being thin, melts quickly. Takes less time than an Easy Bake Oven treat, and I don't know many children who don't like ice cream.
