| amyk49's Full Review: Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream |
I recently was able to visit a Bath & Body Works brick and mortar store, which is rare simply because I have to drive quite a ways to get there. Probably a good thing though, because I'm like a kid in a candy store when I do go! I didn't have a lot of money to spend at the time, so I bought some on-sale small sized items, one of which is Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream, Cucumber Melon. Oh - it's simply divine.
~ Product Description
From the Bath & Body Works website we are told that Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream is a "Fragrant, everyday body cream that nourishes and softens even the driest skin." The Cucumber Melon is even infused with real cucumber and honeydew extracts.
This delightful body cream comes in a nice variety of scents and formulas. In addition to the Cucumber Melon, you can find Sun-Ripened Raspberry, Country Apple, Juniper Breeze, Plumeria, Sweet Pea, Moonlight Path, Cotton Blossom, Mango Mandarin, Sheer Freesia, Fresh Vanilla, Brown Sugar & Fig, Gardenia, Black Raspberry Vanilla, Rice Flower & Shea, White Tea & Ginger, Coconut Lime Verbena, Night Blooming Jasmine, Warm Vanilla Sugar, and Cherry Blossom. Now that's a hard choice! There's got to be something for everyone there.
Each of the scents has other complementary products in that scent, such as body wash, body splash, bubble bath, and body butter. So nice for layering.
This body cream comes packaged in a plastic 8 oz. tube that sits on its flip-up cap. The 8 oz. tube sells for around $10.50. My little 1.7 oz. tube was $3.00. You can find Bath & Body Works products at their brick and mortar stores, or you can order online at www.bathandbodyworks.com.
~ My Experience
I really didn't know what to expect from Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream. The tube packaging made it look like an ordinary body lotion. But I was most pleasantly surprised to discover that my light-green colored Cucumber Melon body cream was very thick and rich as it came out of the tube. Definitely more of a cream than a lotion. The noticeable yet on the light side fragrance was heavenly! The rich cream spread easily over my skin, and I found a little bit would go a long way. The cream absorbed reasonably quickly, and within just a few moments left no greasy or sticky residue. Forget regular body lotions - this cream has concetrated moisture. My skin seemed deeply moisturized, soft and smooth, and lightly scented. The fragrance will not linger all day - it seems to last for about an hour or so. I would say the moisturizing effect lasts as well if not better than ordinary creams or lotions.
I've decided to keep my small tube for travel, and go buy another larger sized body cream for every day. This is GOOD stuff! I really couldn't ask any more from a body cream. And I have dry skin, especially in the winter months. Now I'll just have to try and choose from all the delicious scents available.

~ Final Thoughts
Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream is just wonderful! Although it is packaged similar to a lotion, it is indeed a rich and thick body cream that moisturizes my dry skin beautifully, and leaves no greasy or sticky residue. A little bit goes a long way, which is good, because it is on the expensive side. Look for sales or specials when you can. I love the wide variety of scents and the availability of other products in the line to layer. You should give it a try!
