| diopolis's Full Review: Benadryl Allergy/Sinus Headache |
I grew up in the Willamette Valley, an area that Oregonians consider to be the allergy capital of the world. In addition, my family tree has allergies and asthma in its history. So it came as little surprise when I developed allergies as an adult.
The Benadryl products are some of the non-prescription remedies that I have tried. Frankly, Benedryl works so well for me that I use it when my Claritin prescription runs out and I can hardly tell the difference.
The dosage of Benadryl Allergy/Sinus is two tablets. I only take one because two make me feel sleepy. Taking one tablet (or capsule) takes longer to work, and sometimes my eyes water for an hour or so. But it eventually does the job, and I'm awake and alert enough to get through my work day.
The cost for 24 Benadryl is about $8, maybe a bit steep if you use it a lot, but it's worth it to feel good. It's non-habit forming and lasts 6-8 hours. Even at half dosage, I seldom have to take a second one during the day.
I've tried the generic equivalent (super market brands) of Benadryl and it works just about as well. I've compared ingredients and they appear similar. They're cheaper, too. But for the most part I stay with Benadryl because I trust the brand and I know I'm getting a quality product. If I must have allergies, thank heavens for Benadryl!
