The Bottom Line: Great for a well maintained place. Not so great for an area in need of some TLC.

| wastedyrs's Full Review: Black & Decker 12" Automatic Feed Trimmer / Grass ... |
The Grass Hog is a good trimmer. With a neck that you can adjust to change the angle for edging and the low noise I would highly recommend this product for anyone with a lawn that needs trimming of grass and areas that don't need a great deal of edging to be done.
I say this because I moved to a new home and the area around the house has more weeds and a longer area to edge that has not been constantly edged in the past.
This is where the weakness of the Grass Hog comes to light. If your doing a larger project and need a lot of power 20 minutes or so into your project you won't get the same amount of power you had when you first started and charge time is longer than you'll want to wait so if you run out of power you may have to wait until tomorrow to complete the job.
The spool does feed at an excellent pace and it has never jammed. When I did replace the spool it took about 30 seconds.
The Grass Hog is also very light and you'll never had to pull a string to get it started.
