My son recently received the Melody Bug as a late present of his birth, which was in December. It is just the right size to take with him in the carseat and is easily activated. The Melody Bug offers four soft tabs on the edges that create a "crinkle" sound when touched and two harder plastic tabs that have circular wheel like tabs inside which the baby can spin around as he gets older and develops hand, eye coordination.
My son enjoys this toy very much and it is fun to watch him turn his head toward the Melody Bug as it plays "Do You Know The Muffin Man". It's bright colors also make him very excited. The Melody Bug is definitely hard and is a little heavy for an infant to handle. Another disappointing thing about the Melody Bug is that it only plays one song, one time so I have to keep activating it since my son is not yet coordinated enough to do it on his own.
Other than that it is a very stimulating toy for infants with slightly developed motor skills. I would recommend this toy to infants of four to six months that can pick up or at least hold onto a toy of this size.
