Ever since I moved here to Georgia over two years ago, I noticed that my children have been steadily declining their drinking of water. Since the water has had more a chlorine taste in it, I didn't really blame them either!
Quite often I would purchase bottled water for home consumption. However, this started to get rather expensive so I tried to find cost saving alternatives.
While I purchased a Brita picture, the kids were still using quite a few glasses as well as sip bottles for drinking water. So, to help with the reduction of having glasses to watch as well as encourage drinking of more water, I purchased three Brita Fill & Go Water Bottles for my family.
Does Brita Make a Difference?
In my opinion, using Brita products does make a difference in the quality of drinking water. While the Brita Fill & Go Bottles do not have the advanced filtration system of the Brita water pictures, the bottles do filter out chlorine as well as other taste and odor impurities.
Why do I know this?
Well, my youngest son has autism and because of his disability, he is able to taste elements in water that others can not taste. The first Brita Fill & Go Bottle was purchased specifically for him and after I filled up the bottle with ice and water, he took a great big sip and pronounced "Momma, this is good tasting water!"
If he says it tastes good, then it must taste good!
After this affirment, my oldest son wanted to try out Brita too, so I purchased a bottle for him to use during football season to help cool him off. In the past he had been drinking Gatoraid and Powerade, but those sports beverages had caused him to have increased hunger. With Brita Fill & Go, he is able to quench his thirst without feeling a desire to eat after drinking. So both of my children love their bottles and have been drinking a tremendous amount of water since I have purchased this product.
How To Use The Product
Brita Fill & Go Bottles are incredibly easy to use. All you have to do for the first time use is to clean the bottle, open the filter module and put the bottle parts together as shown on the enclosed diagram. This is very, very easy and my ten year old had no problems doing it.
Then after putting the bottle together, you fill it to the top with water, and squeeze all of the water in the bottle out to activate the charcoal filter. When you have done this completely then the bottle is ready for every day use.
My sons like to put a combination of ice and water into the bottles to have the water chill faster. Then you just open the top nozzle and drink away.
Cleaning The Bottle
The Brita Fill & Go Bottle is really easy to clean too. I've taken the filter out of the bottle, screwed the top back together and put the pieces in my dishwasher many times for fast cleaning. Even with the dishwasher on high heat/drying, the bottle components do not warp or melt.
After washing, you put the filter in the top section, screw it together once more and it's ready to use again.
Is It Really Worth It?
Even though the filters for the Brita Fill & Go Bottle are a little more than a dollar a piece, each filter lasts up to fifteen gallons of water filtration of three months worth of use. There are stickers that come with the filter that you can stick on your bottle to remind you when the bottle filter needs to be replaced or you can just judge this by the taste of the water.
I know that many people will say that it really isn't worth the money to purchase the Brita Fill & Go Water Bottle. However, for me, the investment has been really successful as my children are now drinking more water than they ever were before.
In my case, I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase of these wonderful water bottles and if you have children who are really hesitant to drink water because it tastes nasty, I highly recommend that you purchase Brita Fill & Go Water Bottles for your family. It really has made a difference in our family and I believe it will for yours as well.
