Pros: Cheaper than bottled water, better for the environment
Cons: Bottle gets slippery, somewhat hard for small hands to grip
The Bottom Line: I think anyone drinking bottled water should give this a try. It's better for the environment and saves you money.

8 glasses of water a day is a lot to drink, especially if you're on the go. Since giving up soda, I carry a bottle of water around with me all day. I bought a case of bottled water and was refilling the empties as I went. That assuaged my guilt over the throw-away plastic packaging somewhat. We have bottle deposit on soda and beer bottles in Oregon but not on water bottles, so they usually end up in the trash.
When I saw the Brita Fill & Go bottle, I asked my kids for one for Christmas. Fortunately, someone listened and I opened one up on Dec. 25. I read the simple instructions and filled it right up.
This bottle takes ordinary tap water. You fill it to the line marked, insert the filter into the cap and screw it on. The bottle has a pop up top to sip from and a plastic cap to cover the sipper from dirt when not in use.
The bottle also has an easy to use date reminder on it. You move the date markers any time you change a filter and it reminds you for the next filter change.
My home water tastes normal to me so that was no challenge for this bottle. The water at my health club has a metallic taste so I decided to fill up there and take the taste test. As advertised, the water lost the metallic flavor and tasted just like my home's water after going through the Brita filter.
I like using this bottle. It has a lower impact on the environment and saves me from buying bottles of water. One downside is that it does sweat and gets somewhat slippery. Also, my children have a tough time holding the wide bottle so it's not the best choice for children.
Everywhere I go, people ask me what it is. Now, I need to go refill it and head off to exercise.
