I like your reviews... (Reply to this comment)

and I must say that I really like this toothpaste. You are right, it is abrasive. But it leaves my mouth feeling clean and the morning breath is a lot less offensive. I find that it is also the most affective in preventing plaque build up. I suppose I have a filthy mouth.

Hi there AJ,
You said:
"having used it for over half-a-century, I tend to take the rumors with a grain of salt."
I just looked over this review again, and I don't see where Mike is spreading any sort of "rumor".
I actually thought this review was quite informative. I had no idea before reading this review that there is a scale for toothpaste abrasiveness. And I can understand the frustration that the other major toothpaste companies will share their ratings, but Crest will not. Mike clearly got his information by calling the toothpaste companies and asking for facts.
So, again, I do not see that he is promating any sort of "rumor".
Diana,
who will try to remember to ask her own dentist about toothpaste abrasiveness

I'm not categorically "after" P&G. In fact, I use and like their "Glide" dental floss (not to mention certain other products). My criticism largely pertains to their "refusal" to emulate their industry peers by openly and honestly sharing the RDA ("abrasivity-index") numbers with those consumers who want to know. Can you tell me one good reason why P&G shouldn't be "open and honest" with consumers who ask that particular question? If other major, competing players in the industry are willing to disclose the RDA numbers for their respective, analogous products, then why isn't P&G?

No Problems Here... (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
Crest and Colgate are the two main toothpastes I've used and have never had any problems with either one of them.
It seems to me as if somebody has been after Proctor & Gamble for ages.
A few years ago, there was that ugly rumor about one or more of the powers that be in that company being members of the Church of Satan and that their logo contained a 666 and other such symbols.
Now, you've gotten this kind of information from somewhere.
If I had never used Crest in my life, I might tend to believe something like this, but, having used it for over half-a-century, I tend to take the rumors with a grain of salt.
Still, a well-written review...
Kudos!
AJ :-)

Thanks for your comment, Jan. I'm curious: where can one buy some of that Peelu toothpaste?

I used to always use Crest and never had cavities, but my enamel doesn't look so pretty now. Been using Peelu toothpaste lately.

Informative review for you as usual, even if it leaves me decidedly crestfallen, as I now consider the product.
