| pokey72's Full Review: Cankermelts Time Release Medicated Discs, 36 Count... |
I received my Canker melts Time Released Medicated Discs. They come in a box with 36 discs. Well I had no idea what to do with them as I had no canker sore nor did my husband. So I put them in the medicine cabinet. Two weeks later while talking with my husband I bit my tongue. You know when your tongue doesn't go where it is suppose to do, and your are all of a sudden holding your hand over your mouth and your husband is looking at you like now what. Well you know you just can't talk for awhile until the pain subsides from the initial bite. Dang that hurt and of course when I looked at it, it was bleeding. I know that there is nothing but time that can take care of heeling your tongue.
For the next couple of days every morning when I woke up, my tongue hurt more than the day before. While getting my toothbrush out of the medicine cabinet I noticed the canker melts and decided to check out the details. It said USES: for ordinary mouth sores; canker sores from braces or dentures, minor cuts and abrasions. Well I decided to give it a try for the cut on my tongue.
All I did was take the disc out of its sealed wrappings and put it on the tip of my finger and placed it in mouth on the inside of my cheek a little further back from the cut. I held it in place for almost 3 minutes until it stuck. With in a couple of minutes the pain was lessening. What a relief. Within 15 to 20 minutes I had no pain. I was able to move my tongue back and rub up against the disc, so the medication would get right into the cut. It says 2 to 6 hours of pain relief and I would totally agree with them. If my tongue started bothering me, I would just take another disc out and hold it inside my cheek until it stuck for more relief and then I read the insert which shows to put it on your tongue and use your tongue to press it against your cheek or gums. I found I only needed to do this for one full day, and then I used it strictly and bedtime(It is recommended not to sleep with a disc in your mouth as you can pry it loose with your tongue). Within 3 days I no longer needed to use the discs. I am sure that my tongue had already started to heal by the time I remembered the disks. I believe my tongue would have healed even faster if I had remembered the canker melts right away. As there in an anti-inflammatory pain relief and healing, it has a mild taste with 30 mg Glycyrrhiza extract (licorice root) with 1.4 mg Glycyrrthizin per disc and 40% collagen (active ingredients).
there is a warning to keep out of the hands of children under 6 due to the risk of choking
I highly recommend the Canker Melts which are manufactured by Oramelts Corp. for OrahealthUSA, Inc. http://orahealth.com phone 1-877-672-6541. They are expensive, but I only used 4 discs over 3 days and the fast healing with no pain is well worth it. I have not been able to find them in the store as of yet, but I have found them on the internet through http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FKGTCS for $28.09 (their list price is $35.98) you can get them now for the $28.09 with free shipping.
I received CankerMelts Time Release Medicated Discs from Hass M & L for my honest opinion.
