| chriscalabro's Full Review: Canon EOS-1V Body Only 35mm Film Camera |
Having been a Nikon user (F5) for many years the though of making a change rarely entered my mind. F5 had been setting the standard for Pro level SLR's since 1996, it was the best right?!, WRONG! Say hello to the Baddest SLR available today. Canon created a fast 11fps solid, weatherproof (fully gasketed) Professional SLR. The best part is despite the hefty price tag it competes in the price range of the F5. For the money you get the superior speed, the ability to use over 50 of Canon's top end EOS series lenses. If the EOS 1 V is not enough reason to go Canon the lenses are. The L series rank among the best in the business and perform wonderfully when matched up to this body. The EOS 1V also is a great combo with the 420 & 550 EX speedlights. Both utilize Canon's high tech E-TTL flash technology. The camera sends information to the flash which allows it to regulate flash output for better lighting control. The EOS 1V also has the option to become a EOS 1V HS with the addition of the PB-E2 battery pack. A required option if you do any vertical shooting. Handle this body at your own risk. Be prepared to be spoiled.
