| keembo's Full Review: Canon Elph 240 APS Film Camera |
I received this camera as a birthday gift from my husband who knows I have always loved to take pictures. Many of my friends make fun of me because I carry the camera literally everywhere I go. But, see, before I had my Elph, my camera was big and heavy, so carrying it around made it difficult. My Canon Elph is so small that it fits in my pocket. At first I thought since it's so small, it probably doesn't take very good pictures, but I was wrong. It actually takes 3 different sizes. Regular size, then panoramic, and a size in between those. Sorry, I can't remember the exact measurements! The panoramic comes in handy when you're traveling and you want to get a great picture of something but don't want to have to cut anything off. It's also good when you're taking a big group picture, you don't all have to sit on top of each other to do so. It has a slight zoom on there, so you're able to bring pictures a little closer or push them back.
The film that the Canon Elph takes is called Advantix. There's never any film that you see or have to thread through the camera. You just put the cartridge into the camera and the camera does all the work. After you develop your film, the negatives are put back into the cartridge, and you get an index print of all your pictures, instead. This is so much easier to see than negatives, anyway. Plus, I know my negatives are protected forever.
Some other great features it has is a great button that's for red eye reduction. You don't have to have that annoying red eye in your pictures anymore. It also has titles you can have printed on your pictures. For example, if your taking pictures of a birthday party, you put the code for "Happy Birthday" in the camera, and it will print it on the front or the back of the pictures.
If you're shopping for a camera, this is definitely the one! You can carry it in your pocket! What more can you ask for?
