Pros: Easy to set up and use. Features make this an attractive camera.
Cons: Very grainy picture unless outdoors in sunlight.
The Bottom Line: I am an electrical engineer and am afraid I made a mistake in purchasing this camera, and would like to warn others from doing the same.

| amiri38's Full Review: Canon ZR70MC Mini DV Camcorder |
I've had this camera for 3 weeks and despite its ease of use and handsome appearance, the picture quality does not match its looks or the Canon name. Unless in full sunlight, the picture is grainy and even indistinguishable when indoors. With the effective pixels to tape at 340,000, it would be well worth the extra money to purchase the Optura 20 so you could at least make out the faces of your loved ones if you are filming an indoor family gathering.
When I watch VHS-C tapes from my 10 year old JVC camcorder the picture quality is much better.
It may be worth it to wait a few months for the next generation of camcorders to appear with higher CCD pixels for a lower price, and USB 2.0 capability.
