| chocolatekiss's Full Review: Clairol Herbal Essences Clarifying for Normal To O... |
I'm sure Herbal Essences commercials have all caught our eye at one point or another. The cries of YES, YES and the irresistible lather draw us in. :-) Before I bought Herbal Essences Clarifying Shampoo, I had tried other types of Herbal Essences products and was satisfied with all of them. Herbal Essences is a no brainer. It's moderately cheap, supposedly natural and you always get comments on how good your hair smells!
**ME**
I had realized that I was loading styling products into my hair when I blowdried it. Heat protection, anti-frizz, and volume products were all building up. The day after I blowdry, my hair is dull, lifeless, and greasy. From the advice of many people, I decided to use a clarifying shampoo a couple times a week to get rid of the residue and leave my hair squeaky clean.
As I usually end up, I was drifting around the shelves of my local supermarket's beauty section. I went to Herbal Essences because I knew I could trust it. Something on the bottle of "Clarifying/Residue Removal For Normal to Oily Hair" Shampoo really got to me. It said... over 99% NATURAL and plant-derived...WOW! I'm not exactly a tree-hugger but I like natural things that won't put harmful chemicals into my hair. This really made my decision for me. You can't go wrong with over 99% natural!
**PaCkAgiNg & PrOMiSes**
The bottle is clear with the Herbal Essences logo and a picture of some purple flower It says a lot, but I will summarize::
Over 99% natural and plant-derived, will leave your hair soft and shiny. This shampoo blends natural Rosemary, Jasmine and Orange Flowers with other plant-derived ingredients that will clarify and provide gentle cleansing, removing oils and styling build-up and enhancing shine.
-Herbal Essences uses:

I followed the directions. A wonderful herbal scent emanated from the wonderfully lathering green-tinted shampoo. It's the signature scent of Herbal Essences- a light fresh fragrance that women & men both like. As I said, the lather was spectacular which I love about a shampoo, because it feels like it's really cleaning. It rinsed out easily and left no residue. I followed with a standard conditioner, I don't remember which one. As I combed out my wet hair, the nice scent lingered in my hair but it didn't intoxicate me! I examined my scalp. There were no flakes, no product build-up, just CLEAN and HEALTHY hair! I fell in love.
**INGREDIENTS**
Water, sodium laureth sulfate(the only bad thing about this shampoo is this detergent ingredient.), sodium lauryl sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, jasmine extract, orange flower extract, rosemary extract, linoleamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate (PHEW!), cocamide mea, fragrance, citric acid, proplyene glycol, sodium chloride, dmdm hydantoin, iodopropynyl butyl-carbamate, D&C orange no. 4, disodium edta-copper, ext. d&C violet no. 2, FD&C yellow no. 5
**Final Words**
I highly recommend this shampoo! It is natural and very environment-friendly. It's also gentle and probably can be used for all hair-types, although on the bottle it says for normal to oily hair. It lived up to it's promises, with soft, shiny, healthy, clean hair. It revitalized my oily limp hair and I will continue to use it on a weekly basis.
