my lovely wart experience... (Reply to this comment)
by kevlog
I ended up with several on my right foot all over my toes, so it was off to the podiatrist. He actually prescribed a formaldehyde mist spray to keep the foot dry all day as well as twice monthly applications of some super heavy duty acid. It took about three months but, surprise, they're gone! I think they eventually clear up on their own if you leave them alone but it can take a couple years.

Cheers from Boston

My poor hubby is going through this right now. It has been WEEKS since his started and he's still using these things. The doctor told him to use these things rather than have surgery. But it has taken SO long and it's so painful for him, he wishes he'd just had surgery and gotten it over with!

Great review....I'm glad to know that yours is better....so there IS hope for my hubby! :-)

not sure what's worse... (Reply to this comment)

...doing it this way, or having them burn a hole in your foot with an electric needle to remove it, as was done when I was eleven. With dysfunctional anesthesia. For the record, it really hurts, and would provoke a streak of obscenity from a saint.

Great review, very educated and experiential, as yours always are, Donna.

I've had a plantar wart for 25 years, have been to the podiatrist twice and it keeps coming back. The last time I went to the podiatrist was 10 years ago and the treatment of a high concentration of acid was extremely painful--I couldn't go back to work that afternoon and had to take pain medication until the following day. Alas, it came back and I keep using medicine and scrapeing. Haven't tried Clear Away though and after reading your review, think I will. Thanks!

Well....It was (Reply to this comment)

cost effective. For $6.95 and a little time it took care of the problem. I'm not sure you would not have suffered pain from the podiatrist if he had cut it out, plus the healing time.

I took my oldest son to the podiatrist some years ago for an ingrown toenail and it cost $250. I'm not sure what it would cost in todays market.I wish they had a kit for that!

Thanks for your reveiw. This lets people know that at least they have an option if they do not have the time or money to go to the Doctors.

I don't have the patience either (Reply to this comment)

I had one when I was 17, and we couldn't afford to go to the doctor. So I took a razor blade, tweezers, a bottle of alcohol, some gauze pads, and a basin and went to the basement for about half an hour. Mom thought I was offing myself when she saw the basin full of bloody water, but IT WORKED!

My daughter got one when she was five and it took two months of patient carving and daubing with wart glop every night before bed.
The skin is so tough on the soles!
