The Bottom Line: I do not recommend. This printer does not work with Windows Xp.
jholzer's Full Review: Compaq A4000 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The Compaq A4000 printer/scanner/fax machine does not work with Windows XP. When the computer goes into the sleep mode, the printer never wakes up. You need to reboot the computer to get the printer to work. Compaq tech support is totally ignorant about his product and has no idea that it will not work with XP.

They will have you downloading softpaq fixes until you are blue in the face. None of the fixes solve the problem. Compaq does not want to exchange this printer for an HP printer that will work. If you have no plans to use windows XP this printer may work. If you have Windows XP do NOT buy this printer/scanner/fax machine. I was amazed that Compaq tech was so ignorant about its products.
