I've had this printer for about 5 months now. It replaced my antiquated HP540 B&W inkjet. My workload on the printer is pretty light, perhaps 15 prints a week.
What I like:
1) On board memory allows copies, faxing without having to start the computer.
2) Print quality is good in B&W and color.
3) I print to standard 8.5x11 and envelopes. The paper feeder has never jammed.
4) Print speed is good. It takes a while at hi-res but I am patient by nature.
5) The Ulead scanner software is easy to use and the smart enhance straightening and cropping routines generally work.
6) Printer has small footprint.
Dislikes:
1) Poor performance when scanning photos. This may be typical of scanners that use a document feeder. The manual says to use the included scanning sleeve which is basically a clear plastic document protector. After only a few uses, the sleeve became scratched and streaks appeared on the scans. I then tried to scan photos scotch taped to a piece of paper. Streaks and faded areas still show up on the scans plus the feeder sticks when the feeder wheels are over the picture and smears the scan (this is an exception to item 3 above). I've given up and puchased a cheapo flatbed scanner.
2) Negotiating through the menus on the LED display on the printer are somewhat cumbersome, although not any worse than other printers that use this type of display. All print/scan/fax settings can be software set, so I tend to use this option.
3) One minor gripe; the receive fax can be set to answer mode fax only, answer/fax, or no answer. In order for the answer/fax to work correctly, the phone must be connected to the phone out on the printer (I had to read the manual).
The skinny: I'd buy this printer again, but wish I knew the photo scanning was sucky before I bought it.
