Pros: Great machine, Sleek thin and lightweight.
Cons: Customer service is horrible and won't correct their mistakes regarding warranty information.
The Bottom Line: Great machine but it tends to start falling apart right when your warranty expires. Buy the extended warranty.

Here is the letter I wrote to Compaq:
I have just hung up the phone with your customer relations
department, and am very dissatisfied. I will begin this letter with
explaining the situation, which let to my frustrations. Some time in
December 2001 I had made a phone call to Compaq asking them when my warranty
expired. I was told March 14th 2002. The conversation was brief as all I
wanted to know was answered and He hung up the phone thanking me for calling
Compaq. The reason I had called was that I was experiencing a problem with
my headset jack. However I was about to embark on a month long Winter
Session Semester studying in London and I didn't want to send in the
computer as I knew it would not be returned to me in time for my trip.
Since, at this point in time I knew my warranty wouldn't expire till March
14th I figured I would get it repaired when I returned to the USA on
February 3rd.
After my return I had 3 days to get back to school
for the spring semester at University of Delaware. After finally getting
settled at school I made the call to Compaq to schedule a repair. At this
point I am told that my warranty expired on February 11th. I continue to
explain to the technician that I have previous spoke with someone and he
told me that my warranty would expire on March 14th. He tells me to hold
then comes back and tells me that it actually expired on December 14th. At
this point I realized that Compaq has problems with telling their customers
their correct Warranty expire date, since while talking to the same
technician he provided me with two separate dates, 2 months apart. I now
know that when I spoke with the technician back in December he had given me
wrong information. The problem does not lie with my system now being out of
warranty because as of today (March 23, 2002) it is obviously out of
warranty. The problem that I have is that I would have sent in my Laptop
back in December when I called had I been provided with correct information.
To make things worse the technician I spoke with in December neglects to log
in my phone call requesting my Warranty expire date.
I am now being penalized because of the incompetence
's of your technical staff. After speaking with your staff in the Customer
relations department I realize that you will not accept your faults. I am
writing this letter hoping it gets sent to someone with good business and
customer service skills as the person I previously spoke with did not have
them. I am constantly asked for computer advice from family and friends and
whenever any of them make a computer purchase they always want my input. My
Mother just purchased a Compaq since I told her it was a good company. If
she ordered it less then 30 days ago I would tell her to return it and go
with another company, unfortunately it has been over 30 days. I will make
sure my opinion is extended to all who ask my advice, whether family,
friends, or comrades on the Internet doing research on their purchase
