| dance4joy's Full Review: Compound W Liquid |
A few years back when I began having a problem with warts I purchased a bottle of Compound W so I could hopefully remove them myself without having to go to a doctor.
Compound W did take off the warts... but it was a very lengthy process which ended up being painful as well. This is because you must continually put "dose after dose" of the Compound W on the wart over a period of several weeks; each dose of which hardens and forms a bigger and bigger "hard white blob" on the place where the wart is. Now this thing can really get in the way... especially if it is on your hand! I had one on my finger and it got bumped so many times that the little hard white blob got knocked off at the skin level as the wart had just begun to loosen.... OOOUUUCCCCCCHHHH!!!
I'm glad the question is asked here about how it compares with other medications for the same condition... because I did find a much simpler and more effective way to remove warts. And that is with plain old iodine!! When someone first told me about this, I was skeptical... but decided to give it a try. Wow! It worked beautifully!
I simply carried a small bottle of iodine with me, and several times during the day would just dab a bit of iodine on the wart. Of course it does form a small orange stain, but not a hard ball of "stuff" like the Compound W did. I could "live with" a bit of discoloration for a few weeks for the benefits.
Iodine takes the warts off painlessly and easily in a few weeks... and none of them have ever returned. Iodine kills the very roots of the wart so that it is not a problem with it growing back in the future.
I was absolutely amazed at how well this worked! Of course the "easy way" is to go to a doctor and have the wart removed. But some of us are on a budget or simply prefer home remedies as much as possible. It has been my experience that you can't beat iodine for taking off the wart.
As for Compound W... not for me; too awkward, too messy and too painful! I can recommend it in that it does remove the warts... if it doesn't all break off first... but it definitely is "doing it the hard way."
