It's been a while since I've posted a review of anything lately, but this weekend I finished up some medium-duty yard work around the house and I just had to post something about my Corona Professional Pruning Saw. (I actually have a Corona Professional RS7385, but these are practically the same item)
I purchased this saw last year in preparation for taking down a decent sized tree in my front yard. My father-in-law brought his chainsaw and I had a nice bow-saw and the Corona pruning saw for the small stuff. Turns out we never used the bow-saw. The Corona was tearing through anything in its path. It cuts with absolute ease. This past weekend I used it to take down two medium sized trees by myself and again the Corona just chewed through wood. The thickest branches I cut were probably 5-6 inches in diameter and they never posed any problems. In both cases the wood wasn't a hard wood but I don't think it would make a difference. The Corona is that tough.
Ergonomically, the blade and handle are curved to maximize the cutting stroke, back and forth. The handle is comfortable and has a rubberized grip to minimize discomfort. It just feels natural in your hand. The teeth are razor sharp and are cut at two different angles, making it so both the forward and back strokes chew up wood. You'll be amazed how quickly it dispatches thick tree branches and even small sized tree trunks.
I'd give the Corona Professional Pruning Saw a hearty recommendation to anyone who asks. This can easily replace any other pruning saw or bow-saw you have in your tool shed. It's versatile, sharp as H-E-double hockey sticks, and is actually fun to use.
