My father purchased the Costco Basic High Chair for my 11 month old son, when it became necessary for us to stay at his home longer than anticipated. We had a strap in booster seat with a small tray attached, but the tray was rather small, and Mason has a thing for swiping his food to the floor, after the first initial tastes.
Needless to say, my dad was tired of the food piles on his white, tile floor, so I told him if he brought a high chair, the tray is much larger, and we wouldn't have such a problem.
So he ventured to Toy R Us, and purchased the Costco High Chair, its the most basic model, but it does it job! It extremely easy to assemble and clean, all you need is a damp sponge and cleanup is minimal. It also has a harness to keep child snugly strapped in, but NEVER leave child unattended in a high chair, or any other piece of baby equipment for that matter. Mason is very talented when it comes to working his way out of straps! There is also a colorful, padded insert to install on the plastic seat portion, which removes easily for cleanup purposes.
The only thing I do not like about this seat is when you remove the tray, there is nothing holding the child in but the straps. As soon as the tray comes off, its put down with one hand while I grab my son with the other.
All in all, I must say with the durability, ease of use, and affordability, this is a great buy!
