| mikibee's Full Review: Cover Girl Tru Blend Liquid Foundation |
When I first heard of Cover Girl Tru Blend, it sounded like something I wanted to try. I have tried literally dozens of foundations in the past, and none were "just right." I am a fair complected person with ruddy undertones and oily skin. With all the other foundations I've tried, they would have that tell-tale "line" by the jaw no matter how I blended it in. They would either glide over or sink into my pores, so if you looked closely at my skin, I looked like I had beige polka-dots all over. Some would rub off on the high areas as the day progressed, and most would turn orange a couple of hours later because of a reaction with the oils on my face. I have always wanted to go to a Department store to have them make me a custom foundation, but I never got around to it.
Then I tried this product. I was skeptical to say the least. Well, I pumped a tiny bit on my finger and blended it in. My first reaction was, "Wow! This feels amazing!" The texture is SO silky and smooth, it just glides across the skin. It feels wonderful to apply. I was amazed at the coverage. It completely evened out my skin tone, my ruddiness was gone! It blended in and matched the rest of my skin with 100% accuracy. It didn't cake near my hair line, and no "line." Absolutely invisible. It completely diminished the appearance of my pores.
I at first bought a sample pack with 3 little trial sizes of 3 different shades. I bought the light to medium pack. They all matched me perfectly, but the Classic Beige was more what my skin looked like.
After a few hours, my oily skin made it through the make up, but somehow didn't appear as greasy as it usually would have with other make ups. And the beauty of this product, after blotting up the oil, I could apply more OVER the top of the existing base, and it looked like a fresh application. It didn't cake anywhere. I swear, this stuff is like magic.
I would call it a medium coverage. You can make it as sheer or as full as you like, just by layering. It is not a concealer, and doesn't claim to be. It hides freckles and veins, and ruddiness perfectly, it diminishes the appearance of pores, but it won't completely hide a pimple. That's fine with me because there are other products out there that will do that just fine.
But when all is said and done, when you're wearing this makeup, you cannot feel it at all. Your face will feel un-made-up. You look natural, like you're not wearing makeup. It's like you, just better.
It's the only make up I will ever wear again!
