Thanks Angie! It definitely wasn't the product I was expecting! Glad I could keep at least one person from purchasing it:)

thanks for the warning! (Reply to this comment)

I have seen this set in the store several times over the past month, and I have been *so* tempted to purchase it! The need to purchase the special paper has kept me from it, though, and after reading your review, I'm glad I stuck with my instincts. Between the special paper, the smell, and the lackluster color, I am sure we'd quickly lose patience with this medium.
Thank you for a helpful (VERY helpful) review!

You are too funny Jeff! I can remember getting into so much trouble for coloring on stuff when I was little. I was just trying to paint a mural on my bedroom wall! In the words of Will Smith "Parents just don't understand!".

Coloring Therapy (Reply to this comment)
by jbookin
Now that you mention it, I probably should of spent some time on the psychiatrist couch when I was a kid, due to coloring out of the lines stress syndrome or "COOTLSS". You don't have to tell me how damaging it is to a child's psyche to get poor marks in kindergarten due to defective coloring supplies. And how painful to show your mommy a picture of a cow and she says, "oh what a lovely chicken".
The delayed color reaction with those markers has got to be frustrating. I'm not sure not having artwork on a painted wall is worth the cost of special markers. Of course you could always do what my parents did when I was a kid and wanted to color. They'd send me over to the neighbors house. Ha ha.
Great epinion.
