elvisdo's Full Review: DC Universe Justice League Unlimited Exclusive Act...
The 30th Century is filled with technological wonders and advancements but there is always one thing that is needed: superheroes. Even in the far-flung future, heroism hasn't died out as the Legion of Super-Heroes fill that void. A group of teenagers were inspired by the exploits of Superboy in the 20th Century that they decided to form a team based on his legendary heroics. Cosmic Boy is one of the Legion's founding members and it's great to see the DC Animated Universe expand its line-up with this new Justice League Unlimited addition for its toy line.
Rokk Krinn hails from the planet Braal and has the ability to generate magnetic fields. One fateful day, he, Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl used their powers to save billionaire R. J. Brande from an assassination attempt. Brande was very impressed with their skill and courage, and encouraged the three to form a group in what would become the Legion.
Cosmic Boy is the original leader of the team. He is usually portrayed with a level-head and a very serious nature with a strong sense of duty. Over the course of time, he has gone through many costume changes but Mattel has opted to update his original costume first seen over 50 years ago. I usually associate Cosmic Boy in his purple garb and it his nicely accented with black and white. Even better is the inclusion of the circle motif on his costume that makes him easily identifiable as well, again another telling sign that this is Cosmic Boy. His face is sculpted very nicely with a calm, yet focused and determined look.
As like most Justice League Unlimited figures, Cosmic Boy only has five points of articulation: neck, shoulders, and hips. His right for features a peg hole to use for display stands.
Cosmic Boy is part of a set of four figures (along with Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, and Brainiac 5) that is exclusive only through MattyCollector.com. Even though it is bundled as a set and sold at $30.00, each character is packaged individually. This is the second four-pack offered through MattyCollector.com, the first being Gotham Villains.
It's great to see the Legion of Super-Heroes depicted in this manner and I'm glad Cosmic Boy was a no-brainer for this set. Here's hoping that many more Legionnaires find its way to the forefront. They can serious give the Justice League a run for its money in terms of membership.
