While being a tourist with life long friends from Tennessee, we found this unbelievable BBQ restaurant in of all places-Times Square. Located just off Broadway on 43rd Street (132 W. 43rd St.), they are reasonably priced, have large portions and good, quick service.
My friend had the Baby back Ribs, served with Fries and Cornbread ($8.50 for dinner!). His wife had a half BBQ Chicken again with Fries and Cornbread ($8.50 for dinner). I had the Beef Brisket, Baked Potato. (Again $8.50). They had Texas sized drinks, he Beer, she a Margarita. Me, Diet Cola.
Couldn't believe how fast they served the meal, we were all munching on our delicious BBQ within 5 minutes, and our stomachs were full within 15 minutes. Unbelievable large portions, fantastic prices for Manhattan. Entire meal for dinner cost $38.50 for three people.
Take your friends, your family and kids, heck, take your enemies, they will convert to your side!
This is a great restaurant for families and young people on a budget, but I noticed a couple of stockbrokers I knew as well as regular, normal poor folk!
Food: Great taste, Large Portions, Great low prices.
Service: Fast and complete. Took care of us very well.
Decor: Texas, western modern yet nice and comfy.
Special Notes, Tips or Menu Recommendations: Bring an extra bun for the Brisket, could probably make three regular sandwiches on jumbo buns!
