I knew from the moment I found out I was pregnant (before actually) that I wanted my baby to grow up eating healthy foods. I am not unrealistic in thinking that he will never eat junk food, but I did want to give him the best start possible. That's why I was so happy to discover Earth's Best Cereals. I have read over and over that the best way to eat as an adult is to focus on whole grains and fruits and vegetables. However, when I looked at the backs of cereal boxes for babies, I saw ingredient lists at least an inch long. That was a dead giveaway for me. I didn't want MY baby eating a bunch of refined junk and chemicals as his first solid meal. I finally saw a display of Earth's Best foods at a baby store and was so happy I did. I can actually pronounce and know what most of the ingredients are. And they're made from whole grains! Plus, I really like the old-fashioned looking packaging.
After my son got used to solid foods, he loved this cereal too. It's easy to make and he loves the oatmeal especially. I usually make it with water and stir in mashed bananas. We usually rotate between the oatmeal, multi-grain, and rice cereal. Sometimes we skip the rice cereal if he seems a bit constipated. He's 17 months old and we still feed him this cereal every morning because he likes it so much.
The bottom line is this: I feel great feeding my baby this cereal because I know what's in it. He likes eating the cereal because it tastes good (I take his word for it).
