Pros: Very good gameplay, graphics and sound. Quick loading time
Cons: Players seem to walk through other players on the field.
The Bottom Line: I recommend anyone looking for a football game with solid gameplay and smooth graphics for their GameCube, to go out and buy Madden NFL 2002, or at least rent it.

This Madden game is by far the best one yet. When I first got this game I did not like it at all. I was used to playing the Sega NFL 2K1 and 2K2 football games. I thought these games were superior to Madden, in both graphics and gameplay. But the more I played Madden 2002, the more I saw how much better it was compared to the NFL 2K1 and 2K2 games, way better.
The graphics for this football game are some of the best graphics I have seen. They are smooth and vivid, especially when they replay an impressive play. The players are very similar to the real NFL players they are modeled after. The one thing that flaws the graphics is that players on the field sometimes run through other players. This is noticeable on replays.
The sound is also great for this game. You can fine tune the crowd noise, announcer volume and sound effects to your liking. When I play it, I hook it up to a surround sound system which makes it feel like your right on the field.
Playing this game is a blast. It might take a while to learn the controls, but when you do, you may not want to stop playing this good excuse not to got to work.
