Pros: Dries and develops color quickly
Cons: Color too dark; Ray Stevens should sing about the streakin' here
The Bottom Line: Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Foam in medium/dark may be a little too dark, and streaking is a real problem.

| logimom's Full Review: Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Foam Med... |
I never was one for sunbathing I get bored, hot, and sweaty within 15 minutes. I also dont like to blind folks with my pasty white legs, either. This leaves a few options open. I equate tanning beds with coffins, which doesnt especially appeal to me, and the spray salon thing is out since I only want to do my legs. That leaves the only option of tan-in-a-can.
Over the years, I have learned that there are things you should stick with which work for you. Tan-in-a-can is one of those things. Yet every year, I have to be bold and try a new one. I like Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Lotion -- very few problems with it. This year, Coppertone came out with a foaming cousin, Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Foam. Since I like the lotion, I thought Id give this one a shot, even though the last few foams I tried were fit only for the trash. At least this one may be somewhat salvageable.
Right outta the cheap seats. . .
Endless Summer Foam is a dual foam, fast-drying, and quick-developing sunless tanner. It comes in a 3.7 fl oz light green bottle, and features a dual pump applicator. One pump even mixes the pink foam color activator with the white foam conditioner. The idea behind this dual system takes the staple ingredient in all US sunless tanners (DHA) and combines it with special proteins in the formula and those in your skin to produce a more natural-looking tan. The kicker to this plan is that the combination allows for much faster color development 30 minutes as opposed to 2-3 hours and without an added bronzer or color guide. Between the two foams, Endless Summer Foam is packed with Alpha Hydroxy and special moisturizers to keep your skin conditioned. The thing it doesnt have is sunscreen, so extra protection is needed from the sun.
Endless Summer Foam is available at any store that sells tanning products, as well as online. You can buy the light/medium shade formula, or the medium/dark formula Im reviewing here. The cost is about average, at slightly less than $10 a bottle.
Just in the mood to run in the nude. . .
Most sunless tanners require a long drying time, during which youre running around nude for at least 30 minutes. I dont know about you, but I have too many big windows and little kids to run naked through the house. Endless Summer Foam has an honest-to-goodness quick-dry time of around 5 minutes, and as Ive found, slightly longer in the bend of your knees.
To get to that fabulous quick-dry stage, you must first apply. Make sure the area of application is clean and dry. If applying to the legs, go ahead and shave them first, to avoid that obnoxious follicle dotting. Shake well and dispense the product onto skin, blending the two foams together. Work rapidly and spread an even layer using vertical and horizontal strokes. Try to avoid hairlines and brows, and use less on elbows, knees, and ankles, as these areas tend to tan more deeply. Wash your hands with soap and water immediately after applying.
After the product has dried, you can get dressed. As with any sunless tanner, some of the product will rub off on clothing, but normally comes out easily in the wash. If the foam gets on clothing however, you should launder them within an hour. The company also suggests you wait at least 3 hours before bathing or swimming.
Ingredients water, ethoxydiglycol, glycerin, lactic acid, oligomeric diaminoalkyl siloxane, capryl/capramidopropyl betaine, decyl clucoside, cocamidopropyl PG dimonium chloride phosphate, polysorbate 20, diazolidinyl urea, fragrance, citric acid, dihydroxyacetone, D&C red no. 32
Dont look Ethel! Too late. . . she done been incensed. . .
I got the medium/dark formula because thats the one I normally use with the lotion version. Endless Summer Foam turned out to be a little too dark and quite a bit darker than the medium/dark lotion. I am so glad I had the good sense to not slather this stuff on my face. The color that developed could be considered a bronze tint with a little orange mixed in. Not embarrassingly orange, though. I think that may just be the nature of the medium/dark shade. One application lasts me about 3-4 days of normal activity, daily bathing, and shaving. The fragrance isnt the best in the world, but it isnt too offensive.
The big problem with Endless Summer Foam is streaking. This stuff dries a little too fast, I think. Even when I was sure I got every area covered, there was still major streaking. With the darkness of the color, it was very noticeable, especially in sunlight. Attempting to even it out with more foam made it worse due to overlapping of the previous application. All was not completely lost, though. About 30-60 minutes after application, I had fair success at evening it out using a thin lotion (I use Watkins Peppermint).
Another tip for better results is to mildly exfoliate before use. To me, this gets rid of the dead skin that can cause blotchy color. And thats all I need. . . blotches AND streaks.
When all is said and done, there is just too much work involved to keep yourself from looking like a Halloween candy cane. Perhaps I would get better results from the light/medium formula, but Im sure Ill go back to the lotion version I know and just run naked for a half hour.
But thats a whole different kind of streaking, isnt it?
