Pros: Fiber, chocolately flavor
Cons: Oily, weird aftertaste
The Bottom Line: Good snack but not something I would crave. May fill your fiber gap, but won't solve your chocolate cravings.

| macaddiict's Full Review: Fiber One Oats and Chocolate Chewy Bars |
Well, the promise of a somewhat healthy chocolate snack was too much for me to pass up. I bought a box of Fiber One Oats & Chocolate Chewy bars and devoured them within a week.
I usually buy Kashi's TLC Chocolate & Oat chewy bars, but the extra fiber in the Fiber One bars seemed worth a try. The chocolate flavor between the two is similar, but the Fiber One bars seem oily or too moist and have an odd earthy aftertaste. After looking at the ingredient list, my guess is that this oily/weird flavor is from the main ingredient and source of fiber: chicory root. In the end, I like the TLC bars more, although I wouldn't mind the Fiber One bars in a pinch.
Fiber one has 9g of fiber - but the label does not say how much of this is insoluble
Kashi's TLC bars have 4g of fiber, of which 3g is insoluble
That said, these are Fiber One bars and if you need more fiber in your diet you won't have to gag to get these down. If you're like me and are actually looking for more of a guilt free chocolate snack, I would try TLC and other products as well and see what you like best.
