My older daughter Miranda, 20 months, is a huge Dora the Explorer fan. It’s the only television show that will actually capture her attention and she will sit and watch it from start to finish. She is starting to accumulate tons of Dora the Explorer merchandise – since it’s the only character that she really expresses a huge preference for. From clothing to shoes to bedding and toys, my spoiled princess is getting more spoiled by the minute. I’ve been searching for the Talking Friends Boots for some time now – it is currently of very limited availability. It originally retailed for $12.99, but I purchased mine new in the box on eBay for $8.99 plus shipping.
Talking Friends Boots is approximately 10” tall and uses 3 watch batteries (AG13) – included. He is recommended for ages 2+, but my daughter does just fine with this little monkey. Talking Friends Boots comes with a collectible adventure card that shows Boots and demonstrates his favorite activities. Seeing as how my daughter is younger than the recommended age, she doesn’t get much value from this card.
Talking Friends Boots looks just like the television character! He is gray, yellow and pink in color with a long, skinny poseable tail. Of course he is wearing his signature red boots! He also has poseable arms. Talking Friends Boots is soft and huggable, and is the perfect size for tiny hands. He is very well made and seems to have a good amount of durability that will withstand lots of toddler love! My daughter sometimes takes Boots to bed with her. He is quickly becoming one of her favorite toys.
Talking Friends Boots is made from 100% polyester fiber and is surface washable only.
Aside from being a plush friend, Talking Friends Boots - as the name indicates – does talk! Just squeeze his tummy and one of 3 sayings will emerge from the realistic, highly recognizable voice… “Oooh-ooohhh! Eeehh-eeehh!!” “Where do we go next?” or “Come on! Let’s go!”
With only 3 phrases, Talking Friends Boots quickly becomes very repetitive and somewhat annoying. That being said, Boots doesn’t really talk much on the television show either so I don’t know what I’d really like him to say in addition to those phrases.
All in all, I’ve been pleased with my purchase of Talking Friends Boots and I’m sure that he will be a well-loved toy for years to come. If you can find it, I would definitely recommend buying Talking Friends Boots for your little Dora fan.
