I bought my daughter the Loving Family mom and baby girl doll house figures a few years ago. This was when the Loving Family Twin Time doll house first came out. The figures at that time were dirt cheap because it was what helped "Sell" the doll house which was a lot at that time. Now it is in reverse sine then. The doll house is not very much but the figures are way higher from the original cost.
I pretty much purchased the Loving Family mom and baby girl doll house figures for my daughter because she and I have a doll house building, creating and crafting hobby together. We always have a hard time finding realistic figures to fit our one inch scale doll houses also known as 1:12 scale. The Loving Family dolls suit these houses and furniture items of this size perfectly. That was the main reason that I chose to buy this set.
Where to buy this doll set and how much I paid:
I got these dolls from the Walmart Department store located near by me, here in Rhode Island. At that time this set was only $4.99 in cost. That was certainly a great price. They would still be worth it at today's price, but they are now $12.99 per set at the same store. I would have no problem paying that price if I needed to get my daughter another set.
Details, facts and description:
This set comes with the mother figure. She stands about 5 and a half inches tall. Her arms, legs and head can be posed. She is made of hard plastic and is very sturdy and well made. She wears painted on clothing which are a purple jacket over a shirt, khaki pants with fake pockets, and dark shoes. Her hair is not plastic, it is just past shoulder length and is brown/red in color. She comes with a baby carrier. The carrier has baby designs on it and is blue in color.
There is a baby girl figure that comes with this set as well. She is also made of the same sturdy thick plastic. Her arms, legs and head also can be posed. She is about 2 and a half inches big in size. She too wears clothing that is painted on. She wears a full length pink pajama outfit with booties that are white. In her hand there is a bottle. The bottle does not come off of the doll. So it is safe for small children to play with. Her hair is sandy blond in color and is plastic. This doll fits snuggly in to the carrier and in to her Mommy's arms as well.
The experience, my thoughts and recommendation:
The Loving Family mom and baby girl doll house figures were and still are a big hit with my daughter. She has used them at least four times per week or more since the day that she first got them. They have held up to a lot ofplay and abuse. There are no signs of wear or paint chipping on these dolls. As far as the clothing not coming off, that does not matter. The hand stitched one inch scale doll house clothing that we have fit right over the existing clothing. They do not fit in any shoes, but the shoe colors on these dolls are so basic that they will go well with any thing you throw over their clothing.
My daughter enjoys role playing. These dolls are perfect for that. They fit all of the furniture and are the perfect size to go with any of the accessories in my daughter's doll houses. This alone made them worth the small price that I had paid for them to begin with. My daughter has not gotten bored with these dolls and uses them along with her other Loving Family doll sets. I wish they all came together as one giant set. But they all come in 2's like this set.
With the amount of time my daughter has spent enjoying these dolls, the fun she has gotten from them, how well they have held up and the fact that they are able to fit the 1:!2 scale doll houses and items. I would highly recommend buying these dolls. The Loving Family mom and baby girl doll house figures were certainly worth the money.
