stse's Full Review: Foot Pleaser Ultra Deep Kneading Foot Massager
Introduction
According to many websites, many of our body parts can be affected by our feet. If you massage our feet good, headaches, stomach aches, or back pains will be smoothed away or gone.
Lately, I have been feeling a little headache plus I have tiring feet. I decided to buy this product and give it a try.
The product at first was very attractive to me, the price was decent, it was less than 60 dollars, and it said it comes with heat, and kneading action. I figured that is the way to go, but read on.
The Massager
Weight = approximately 5 pounds Dimension = 2 1/2 inch x 9 in x 7 in Power Cable = 6 feet balls = total 8 metal balls. Inside 2, and outside 2 on each side. Button = first press - spin, press again - spin and heat, press again - off Spinning action = Outside balls spin different direction against inside balls
How it works
Basically, this product claims to be working by kneading your foot muscles buy spinning the balls.
On each foot, there is a circle like plate. Each plate has inner and outer circles. The inner circle will spin on one direction while the outer circle will spin on other direction
To be exactly, there are two balls inside and too balls outside a circle on each side. The spinning action is known as "Kneading" according to the Massager. However, the real "Kneading" is actually explained in the dictionary as follow:-
"Kneading -to work (dough, clay, etc.) into a uniform mixture by pressing, folding, and stretching."
So, to me, it was a little misleading. That spinning action does not press, fold. It only creates similar feeling as "stretching when two balls come together in a spinning direction on each cycle or each time it meets.
For starter, it feels a little weird, you have few balls on your feet moving around. It does give you a little relaxation in the start, plus you do have heat on, that will relieve some tiredness or tension in some way. You can also turn on the heat by pressing the button once again in the middle, the light will turn from blue to red. The heat will then be turned on. It is advised that you should not use this (especially with the heat on) more than 20 minutes. Why? I guess the machine will break easily. I am not quick sure if that will after you feet or circulation.
My thought
When you have a long walk and feeling extremely tired, this may help you relax. However you may need to use it for at least 15 minutes. Too long may not be good for you or for the machine.
I do not have much good feelings about this machine except this is not that expensive, it costs about less than $50.00 (after tax). It does relax a little; as far as healing the other parts go, I do not see any real difference. My headache is still there, my back pain does not go away after using it. So, I would only use as relaxation.
Bad and the Ugly
When you read the instruction, it advised you to put socks on when using this product. However, putting socks on is like having filter to your skin. You will not feel as intense as if you have the foot skin directly massaged by the balls.
Cramp - Don't put your foot too close or press too hard or you will get cramp. When you use it, you can't really press all the way. You can, but it may lead to a foot cramp or it will break the machine easily.
Easily broken - I have exchanged one unit already because of putting my feet too close and the machine's power just got cut off.
Broken balls - The balls are made out of metals. After a month or two when you use it, it first changed color. The color is like rusty color. I guess it is due to heat and foot sweat. Then, it will crack open. When it cracks open, it cracks opened in half. I sometimes am able to piece it back, but it will crack opened again after a while of using. I wonder why they can't use marble or other material to replace this. Beside, the size of the balls are bigger than regular marbles, I can't replace it.
Conclusion
If you need a quick relaxing method, you may want to have this. However, don't count on how long this thing will last. It may last more than six months without a broken ball. I would not recommend it just because the balls are made out of metal and easily broken. I can live with the part of "press too hard that will cut off the power". By using it carefully, you can bypass this problem.
