I desperately needed a laptop in order to write my papers away from any distractions I have at the apartment (10 ppl, 6 of them sorority girls). I believe in highly portable laptops with just enough features to type my papers, surf the internet and listen to mp3s while away from home. I began my search with the Sony Vaio C1 Picturebook, but was immediately turned away from its high price tag. Upon searching Ebay, I came across this laptop. I was impressed highly with its features.
Upon receiving the laptop in the mail, I was blown away with its quickness especially for a Celeron 400 (I have 128MB RAM installed) running Win98SE (I will be installing Linux on this machine soon)(I don't run games on this machine). I slapped in a D-Link wireless card (DWL-650+) and now I'm surfing the internet on my college's wi-fi, talking to my friends on AIM, and typing up my papers; all while listening to mp3s without a hitch. The touchscreen is really helpful most of the time (sometimes holding the stylus in your teeth gets annoying when you go to start typing again).
The only drawback is the battery life. The used model I'm using lasts maybe for 2 hours with normal use, and less than an hour with the wireless card in continuous power mode.
