| Furbster's Full Review: Furby for President |
I heard almost a year in advance there would be a Furby for President in the future. I also heard he'd say new things and he does!
This long awaited fellow became available from the tiger electronics website in early September (at furby.com).
They made his own section, having a newsletter telling about the US election and how it was going. They have historical information about previous presidents as well as weird laws in the states and tidbits of interesting information. They also have games and such, it's very cute and well done!
Also on the site they sell the President Furby, going for 29.99 (shipping is included!). I bought two, one to keep in the box and one to open and play with.
Since this Furbys vocabulary was to be upgraded, I NEEDED to find out what new things he said and hear him say it! They were shipped and arrived within a week.
His manuals are decorated in the us flag and he came with a certificate as well. The certificate has his unique number on it (as they are individually numbered) with the US eagle logo - it's a real nice certificate! Tiger went all out when making this fellow. I am quite impressed with how he looks!
The Furby himself is kinda like a teddy bear - light brown body and dark brown hair with white inner ears and black toes. He has blue eyes and a tuft and tail. He comes dressed in a tux; dark blue coat with 3 buttons in the front and fold over collar. Underneath is a white shirt with a dark red tie connected at the collar. On the outside of the blue jacket is a red, white and blue button that reads "Furby for president!" and it has an American flag standing out from underneath it.
Furby for president comes with a nice plastic button for the owner to wear that says Furby for the presidency and it shows a picture of the president Furby on it.
This Furby has the new words mapped out right in the furbish manual for us. In addition to the words that Furby already says, this Furby says these additional things:
"wee-tee noh = Vote me President!"
"me dah doo-ay wah = Campaign trail"
"boo boh-bay = Me President"
"e-day ah-may = Vote me"
"oh-too-mah doo? = Campaign trail happy?"
"Doo-moh wee-tee koh-koh = Please vote for me"
"Big noo-loo = vote peace"
"Me love American flag, wahoo"
"Me proud America"
"Peace American on campaign trail"
"Proud American flag, peace"
"Wahoo, peace America"
Let me just say it's very odd to hear him say these big words! Though quite cute and he dances and talks with much enthusiasm when talking about being the president and how proud he is of America.
The only real complaint I have is that the certificate is hidden so that unless you knew it came with him, you'd not remember to look for it and it might get thrown away with the box if you don't look. It is located between the two pieces of card that make up the back of the box. It is taped right between the two and completely invisible to anyone, unless looking for it. Not a good move there Tiger, you should have put it fully visible in the box behind the Furby, or somewhere else easier to find!
Overall I really enjoy this guy, he is very cute in his little tux saying all those big words! Considering some of the people running for office this year, I think Furby would make an excellent president! :D
