Pros: A great diaper, very trim, seldom leaks.
Cons: Can be pricey to purchase.
The Bottom Line: Very trim, fits my skinny minnie very well, I would definitely recommend at least trying them for those serious about cloth diapering.

| mchiacchierini's Full Review: Fuzzi Bunz Diapers |
When my daughter was about 18 months old I decided to give cloth diapering a try. I never in a million years thought I would do it, but after doing some research and asking questions of other moms who do cloth diaper I decided to give it a try. My daughter is very slender for her height and with normal disposable diapers it wasn't possible to keep pants on her without using a belt. Plus I was looking to get away from disposables as I feel that they were partially responsible for the long delay before my son was ready to potty train.
Fuzzi Bunz are highly rated here and at other sites, but as far as I know they can only be purchased online. Fuzzi Bunz are a pocket diaper, which means that some sort of absorbent material needs to be stuffed in the pocket. The cost per diaper can range from about $12 to about $16 depending on the online store. Most of the online stores that carry Fuzzi Bunz also offer "soakers" and other materials to stuff in the pocket of the diaper, this can add between $2 to $6 per diaper depending on the soaker.
I sat down and figured that based on a supply of 12 diapers with 4-layer hemp soakers it would take about 8 months to recoup my costs in savings on not buying disposables.
Fuzzi Bunz are not the only brand of cloth diaper that I use, but they are the trimmest. They have a polyester cover that is waterproof and a micro-fleece lining (the photo included for the diaper for these reviews is either out of date or incorrect). Fuzzi Bunz have snaps with several size settings to get a good fit, plus there are several sizes available (even preemie) - for someone looking to cloth diaper through their child's entire diaper-wearing experience they will most likely have to buy 2-3 sets of diapers as the child grows. Fuzzi Bunz do come in solid colors, and there are plenty of colors to choose from.
During the day I use a single 4-layer hemp soaker and at night I use either two or one with a folded plain old Gerber cloth diaper. I very rarely have leakage problems with Fuzzi Bunz and I use them regularly for nighttime or long outings. Even better, as long as I "pre-stuff" them my husband can use them just as easily as a disposable.
I keep soiled diapers in a dry pail (no water) - just a large white trash can with a lid and an inexpensive nylon laundry bag, plus a Stick-Up for odor control. I launder every 2-3 days depending on how many diapers my daughter goes through. It is very necessary to launder them in a particular manner to avoid breaking down the waterproofing in the cover. While there seem to be a lot of different laundering tricks the most important is to air-dry Fuzzi Bunz and not run them through a dryer. This will prolong the life of the diaper.
It is possible to find gently used Fuzzi Bunz for sale (on eBay for example), which is a cost effective alternative for people looking to try but not invest a lot of money up front.
