Pros: The SALES people are very friendly and reassuring.
Cons: Airtight contract; rude, condescending managers if you disagree with them; SATISFACTION NOT GUARANTEED!!!!!
The Bottom Line: Be aware that you WILL NOT get out of your contract early, NO MATTER WHAT!!! Cingular's attitude is, "The customer is never right."

| emilykpat's Full Review: General Reviews of Cingular Wireless Customer Serv... |
The first time that I had service with Cingular was in Houston, TX. When I chose my service plan, the sales person put my plan into the computer wrong. One month later, after going on vacation, I was slammed with a GIGANTIC bill due to roaming charges (which would not have been billed had the right plan been in the computer). We're talking over $1200.00. I called Customer Service where I got the run-around. I was told that it would be investigated. Bottom line, after many, many argumentative calls with Customer Service, I eventually was forced to either pay the bill or be turned over for collections. They also made me pay the early-termination fee, because I couldn't afford to pay the huge bill all at once. I was never reimbursed one cent for this employee's mistake. Cingular backed the employee.
After moving to a rural area southwest of New Orleans, I decided to give Cingular another chance, because there aren't many other options here. Now five months after the hurricanes, Cingular's towers are still not working properly. Nine times out of ten, the calls are dropped or won't go through to begin with. Customer Service will not let me out of my contract, and they are forcing me to either pay my full bill every month or pay the early-termination fee of $250.00 to drop them. So I am stuck paying for service that I can not depend on. Sure I have 800 minutes/month and have accumulated 3500 roll-over minutes, but what good are the minutes to me if I can't use them due to tower failure? I still have to pay for them. In February, I start losing them anyway.
Cingular lures people in with a great-looking plan, but if there is ever a discrepancy, look out! Cingular's contract is tighter than Donald Trump; you won't get out if you're not satisfied!! Just be aware of that before you sign!!
