| rmgood's Full Review: Gerber Tender Harvest Baby Food |
I admit it, the picky eater in my 11-month old comes from her mother. To top things off, I am not the healthiest eater or the most consistent cook. Therefore, I worry a great deal about her nutrition (probably much more than necessary but I am a mother after all). These fun Gerber jars have been a life saver over the last six months for us!
I made the same mistake that many do and introduced fruits before vegetables simply because I was more concerned with teaching my 5-month old to eat foods than with proper nutrition. (At that time most of her nutrients came from breast milk.) But as she got a little older and that started to change, I was very concerned over the fact that she would not eat vegetables. In all honesty, I couldn't blame her -I mean those strained peas really look disgusting! Just when I about to call in the National Guard to force my daughter to swallow a couple tablespoons of beans, Gerber came to my rescue.
Gerber sent me a bunch of coupons, including one to try their new Tender Harvest foods for free. I trotted off to the store and found a wonderful selection of food combinations. Tender Harvest offers two varieties of fruit and vegetable combinations: Apples & Sweet Potato and Pears & Winter Squash. My daughter gobbled them up! She couldn't get enough!
I have since offered her other varieties which she also loves. Some of her other favorites include: Garden Carrots & Brown Rice, Green Beans & Potatoes, Peach Strawberry & Mixed Grains, Banana Oatmeal & Peach, Chicken with Wild Rice and Spinach Lasagna. If the perfect combination for your little one isn't listed here, never fear because there are many more meals to choose from including all kinds of exotic flavors.
Gerber Tender Harvest are organic and natural, providing your child with one of the best choices for early foods. No harmful pesticides, no artificles (colors, preservatives, etc.) and no added sugars. I think you and your child will be very pleased with these foods. I highly recommend them.
One last tip: coupons are plentiful for these products. One source is to go to the Gerber website: www.gerber.com and sign up for their mailing list. About once a month they will send you all kinds of wonderful coupons for this product as well as many others. And if you're into collecting points, they have a wonderful program for sending in UPC symbols to earn gifts.
