| mellkinwa's Full Review: Gerber Vapor Bath 15 Oz. 93000 |
As part of the My Favorite Bathing Accessory Write Off we were asked to write about favorite bathing accessories. Now I do not have any children but I do use some baby products, one such product is a baby wash. In particular the Gerber Vapor Bath Variety.
I am a year round allergy sufferer and I always seem to have a stuffy nose. Sometimes I am not congested enough to take pills but I need a little relief. So I have been search for anything that could help in the daytime, when using vapo rub isn't convenient. Then while waiting at the pharmacy one day I noticed some baby washes that promised to help relieve congestion. The one I choose to try was Gerber Vapor Bath since it was on sale and because I liked the flip top lid.
Once home I got ready to try it out. I squeezed some out into my bath water and hopped in. The "natural menthol vapors" (also contains eucalyptus and chamomile) started working quite quickly. My nose began to feel a little clearer even as the tub was filling. After I soaked about 10 minutes I was feeling much less congested and the tight feeling in the sinuses around my eyes was gone. I found the effects lasted a few hours at minimum. Another unexpected benefit that I got from the product was very soft skin. On days when I am a bit more stuffy it doesn't totally clear my sinuses but it is a good way to start. The wash doesn't leave to much of a menthol smell behind so anyone who comes near you wont smell it.
I also found that if I do not have time for a bath that the wash works just as well as a body wash. The stuff isn't like a typical foamy bubble bath so it just smoothes onto the skin and rinses right off without a foamy mess or any residue.
The product is recommended for children 3 months and older and the directions include how much to use in both an infant and a full size tub. I often find it on sale for under $3, sometimes 2 15 oz bottles for $5. It really is a great product, so the next time you or a loved one is feeling a little stuffy give the Gerber vapor bath a try.
Gerber's line of personal care products also includes:
Baby Wash for Hair & Body, Calming Lavender
Tear-Free Baby Shampoo
Baby Powder, Cornstarch with Aloe & Vitamin E
