Pros: Cheaper per serving; combines effectiveness of MSM and glucosamine and chondroitin into three-tablet serving.
Cons: Overall the product is not cheap; some people may prefer a smaller serving.
The Bottom Line: GNC Triflex™ is an effective blend of MSM, glucosamine and chondroitin at a savings over purchasing each ingredient individually.

GNC Triflex™ is a proprietary blend of three important minerals: Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane). These three minerals are useful for people with inflammation of joints, as they help to regenerate and lubricate cartilage and connective tissue.
I've been taking Triflex™ on and off for a couple years now and it does a pretty good job in keeping joint pain down, especially in my knees. It's not a panacea, but I prefer this to Ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatories that simply act to keep inflammation down but don't actually work at the cause of the problem. If you have significant pain in your joints, especially chronic pain, you should probably talk to your doctor or find out what combinations of hot/cold, anti-inflammatory and analgesic rubs, etc. work best for you.
The major advantage of Triflex™ is that you get all three minerals in one blend of three tablets, rather than having to take a Glucosamine/Chondroitin and MSM combination separately. The other advantage is that you get a significant per unit cost reduction (you can either take my word or compare by doing a little math below):
Individually you can purchase 90 capsules of MSM 1000mg as well as 60 tablets of 500/400 Gluchosamine/Chondroitin combination. The MSM retails for approx. $11 and the G/C combination for $21. That comes out to about 12 cents for 1 gram MSM and 60 cents for a Glucosamine/Chondroitin 900 mg serving, or about 72 cents total per serving, or 38 cents per gram combination of the three.
The Triflex™ serving comes out to just 26 cents per serving, but you get about three times more Glucosamine/Chondroitin per serving (It's really just a regular concentration multiplied by 3 tablets rather than one). Adjusted, that means that you pay only 7 cents per gram combination of the three.
Effectively, GNC has taken its regular dosage Glucosamine/Chondroitin (500/400 blend) and added 300 mg of MSM to each tablet (but now you take three tablets rather than one). I personally don't mind having to take the three tablets in one dosage because it is more convenient than having to search for the bottles (I have so many vitamins that it's not as easy a task as it may seem). If you prefer to take a lower dosage, however, you may want to get the individual G/C and MSM bottles. The G/C tablets are the same size as each Triflex™ tablet, while the individual MSM capsule is smaller and easier to swallow.
The Triflex™ is sold in a larger 240 tablet container at $63. (More costly overall, but cheaper per serving).
Additional Features/Notes:
-Available at GNC as well as select Rite Aid stores.
-Can save 20% off any GNC product during the first seven (7) days of each month with a Gold Card membership. Recently, GNC has been extending the number of days you can use the Gold Card, so check with the individual store franchise.
-Always make sure you get the price on the bottle sticker, as sometimes the computer scan may show a higher price than on the bottle (this can make a big difference because the products are not cheap to begin with). If you scan a Gold Card, make sure your savings scan through.
-Always check the expiration date. GNC sometimes sells products near expiration at significant markdown. I always make sure I get a product with a later expiration
date. (If you buy a lot of any GNC product and it is set to expire in the next few months, keep in mind that you may be left with leftover product past the expiration date).
-GNC has come out with a Triflex™ "Chewable" tablet, but it contains significantly less MSM per serving.
