| asterb's Full Review: Goodyear Assurance TripleTred Tire |
This review is about the tire and what it offers and delivers. Many people want to buy the supreme ALL PERFORMANCE tire yet these same people do not want the negatives associated with superior performance. Seriously, a drag racer who uses racing slick to up his ETA at the drag strip can not use that same tire to safely drive across town in all weather conditions. The question one must ask is how they drive each day. The answer to this question should direct them to a tire suitable to their needs.
The commuter who basically jumps in his/her car, this tire is great. It performs well in ALL Conditions. I live and drive in North Dakota, the spring roadways are rain filled, we get the direct opposite with the scorching summer. Summer brings a dusty coating on our roadways that present a small problem in accelerating and stopping. Then we have the floods of spring which brings hydroplaning problems. Lastly, we have to endure froze, snow covered road ways. So what tire is able to excel in all the categories? No single tire can achieve high marks in all categories. What the Assurance Triple Tread does is finding the middle ground that allows high marks in each category and high tread life.
Economically speaking this is the tire that a daily driver desires. You wont be able to scale Mt Everest with these tires, but then again a tire that can scale Mt Everest wont be able to handle everyday driving conditions and offer long tread wear.
Bottom-line, this is the tire for the daily commuters who desire the ability to safely navigate roadways in all weather conditions. The small amount paid upfront, pays for itself in longevity, tread wear, and all season performance.
