| Birdfeather's Full Review: Gorilla Glue |
We have used Gorilla Glue for various projects around the house for several years now. When we bought an older home in Mississippi this past fall, we have lots of home improvement projects and Gorilla Glue once again came to the rescue!
Gorilla Glue
Gorilla Glue is marketed by The Gorilla Glue Company out of Cincinnati, OH. The glue itself is made in Denmark. Gorilla Glue is advertised as being the "incredibly strong" and "for the toughest jobs on planet earth".
Gorilla Glue is 100% waterproof and bonds wood, ceramics, glass, stone, metal, foam, plastics, and more! The company also claims that it is stainable or paintable if you are working on a wood project. The glue dries on surfaces with a light color, although it appears dark when you first apply.
Instructions for Use
Using Gorilla Glue is quite simple. The manufacturer suggests applying the glue to only one surface lightly as the glue will expand. They suggest damping surface, glue it, and then clamp it!
My Thoughts On Gorilla Glue
We have used Gorilla Glue on several odd jobs around the house. I remember one project that I tackled several years ago where the laminate countertop was coming away from the edge of the countertop. I knew we had Gorilla Glue in the house so I took this job on myself because I had already mentioned this to the man of the house and he kept forgetting to take care of it. The job was simple and I managed to fix the problem with very little effort. I would have to say the biggest effort came with wiping the excess glue off. If you do happen to get the glue on areas not wanted you will need solvents to remove.
We recently used Gorilla Glue to seal PVC pipes under the sink. We found that the plumbing wasn't done exactly right with the dishwasher pipes coming into the main pipe under the sink and after replacing this area, my husband used Gorilla Glue to seal a joint.
Gorilla Glue has never failed us in sealing and providing a waterproof seal when used on projects around our house. It is strong as advertised and the strongest glue I've ever used. My husband uses it often on woodworking projects as well.
Recommendation
I highly recommend Gorilla Glue for any project that you may have aroundthe house that needs fixing! The glue is strong and works on just about any surface. Just be prepared with an old rag or two when using to wipe excess glue.
