Haan cleans, santizes. My kids could eat off the floor.

Pros: Easy to use leaves the floor clean and dry. Handle adjusts to height.
Cons: Hard to get in curved spaces.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone. The floors are clean, dry and it is very light and easy to use. Adjustable handle is great.

I am always looking for anything that makes my life easier. With two little toddlers to care for 24 hours a day my life has changed drastically. Making it worse is the fact that I have medical problems and am unable to physically do some things that I need to do.
Mopping is one of the things I have the hardest time with and as you can imagine the kitchen and bathroom are the worse jobs in the house for me. I was always asking someone else to do it, making me feel very lazy and guilty.
I have tried all the Swiffer mops and the others like it, but then the floor was wet afterward and keeping the kids off until dry was a job in itself.
I watched the commercials for all the steam mops that were on television and then I decided to check the internet for details and reviews on different steam mops.
I finally decided on the Haan FS-20 Steam Cleaning Floor Sanitizer
The Haan had many features. Most of them met my expectations.
Pros
Haan FS-20 Steam Cleaning Floor Sanitizer adjusts shorter or longer to fit your length. When extended all the way it is 50 1/2".
There are 15 steam jets on the bottom of the Haan.
It uses a cup of water, no chemicals. The indicator light comes on when you press the button on the bottom. The steam has lasted long enough for me to do the kitchen and the bathrooms.
One of the most important things for me is it leaves the floor clean and dry and kills 90% of germs. I can't attest to the truth of the germ killing but the steam that comes out is 212 degrees.
It only weighs about 3 ½ pounds which is a big plus.
The cord is a generous length and I don't have to worry about finding other plugs to finish a job.
The pads that came with it,I received four, stick to the bottom and has rough strips to clean the floor like a rough scrubber. The pads are washable and really come out clean. I have never dried them in the dryer and I can't say if this would hurt the pads or not.
It comes with a black rubber like square mat that I sit it on when taking a time out.
The directions say not to leave the Haan on the floor as it could burn the tile if left in one place for too long. The mat acts as a resting station for the Haan
Mine came with a short handle that I attach when I want to steam the mattress or furniture to kill dust mites.
The Haan can be used on tile, linoleum, wood floors and carpet.
Cons
It is square and that makes it hard in my house to get between the bathroom sink cabinet and the commode.
My Experience
When I use the Haan FS-20 Steam Cleaning Floor Sanitizer the first thing I do is attach a clean pad to the bottom, the pads are made to fit the Haan perfectly. I sit it on the black pad, plug it in and add the cup of water.
It usually takes about 3 or 4 minutes to reach steaming. You can tell when it starts steaming because you can see the steam coming out around the bottom.
You can go faster with the Haan then the TV commercials show. The only time I have to slow the strokes is when there is something really sticky or dirty on the floor.
When I get finished I set it on the black pad and unplug it. The children can go into the kitchen immediately and play. The floor is dry and warm and clean.
When it cools down I empty the bottom of the Haan into the sink and whatever water is left comes out.
All I do then is take off the cleaning pad and throw it into the washer.
On the commercial I have watched them use the short handle to clean counter tops and stove tops. I have not tried this on my counter tops yet.
It came with a square frame that attaches to the bottom of the Haan without a pad and steams the carpets. I guess, all this did was kill the dust mites because it leaves the carpet fresh but not clean.
I have had the Haan FS-20 Steam Cleaning Floor Sanitizer for about three months now and I love it.
I would recommend it highly.
