Suzer's Full Review: Halls Fruit Breezers Cool Berry 25 Each
You know that nasty flu that is going around now? Well I had the flu shot that our medical facility offered, and was quite proud of myself for getting the shot free, and right at work. I was confident I wouldn't be getting the flu. Wrong; very wrong. I got the flu a couple of months ago, and it started with a scratchy and sore throat. Later I got a severe cough, fever/chills. Several days of work were missed. It took several weeks to get rid of the bug, and here I am, sick again. My throat started out very sore this time, and then segued into that scratchiness with the tickle. You know the tickle, and the resultant cough. I needed relief. Perhaps I saw the advertisements for Halls Fruit Breezers, perhaps I just saw them at the drugstore. I can't remember, but they sounded soothing, so were worth a shot. I picked up a bag of the cool berry and the tropical chill flavors. I was hoping they would help both with my throat and the cough.
Packaging:
The bag is colorful, icy blue with pictures of large red berries on it. You will see the tear strip at the top, and the bag is resealable. That's great. I haven't seen that before on a bag of cough drops. Each bag contains 25 of the drops. I paid $1.99 unfortunately, at Savon Drugs near my home, but you can find them less expensively online or perhaps at other stores.

My experience:
Let's face it. Most cough drops don't taste good. Most taste medicinal, and you feel you are being punished by having to suck on the cough drop. That is added to already feeling bad. The Fruit Breezers, in my opinion, are quite tasty. The cool berry drops are red with a couple of thin lines of white. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried the first one. I found it to be fairly effective in soothing my throat. And they are cool tasting as promised. But they are so-so as far as curtailing my cough. In all fairness though, they are what we consider to be cough drops, but they don't promise to alleviate coughs. They sooth sore, irritated throats.
My thoughts and recommendations:
For sore throats, these are cool and soothing, and I recommend them for that. For an annoying, persistent cough, look for another product, perhaps Riccola, Cold-eez, or Fisherman's Friend. I am giving Halls Fruit Breezers
3 1/2 stars.
