november52002's Full Review: Pets International Hamster Moon Glow Ball
What made you buy the Pets International Hamster Moon Glow Run About ball?
It looked pretty cool. That was the motive. We have two hamsters so we bought 2 of these from Ebay. I got a good deal on them. It was 2 for $3.00 plus $3.00 shipping charge so it was a six dollar total charge for both. The price was right. Our hamsters had these types of balls before. In fact they had one when we bought these. But what sold me on this one was that it glows in the dark. We did have a bad experience where we forgot to put our old hamster Cally away. We went to bed and when I got up on the middle of the night I stepped on and crush her inside of the ball. Needless to say Cally is now in a better place. This was the main reason why I thought it would be a good idea. With kids and several different kinds of pets we have to learn to be more careful. Seeing them better is a great way to achieve that too.
So what does this thing look like? Does it do anything?
The color of the Pets International Hamster Moon Glow Run About ball is sort of a transparent but green coloring. As far as the size of it, that is am easy one to display. It is 7x7x7. All the way around. The shape is perfectly rounded so it won't grip the floor or rug, it will continue to go as your pet runs in it. There are grooves and slots through out all of the sides of the ball. This provides your pet with a footing grip in many areas to be able to move around when they want, and also allows them to get air with the ventilation as well.
These balls can provide your hamster with exercise that they need to keep healthy. It allows them to move about with out being stuck in one place like a hamster wheel forces them to. This ball also glows in the dark. This means even at night you can watch your pet roll around in the ball, or like us, if you leave the hamster out by mistake or your kids leave him or her out by mistake. At least you will see the ball roll in front of you should you get out of bed in the middle of the night and you won't stomp the poor thing.
The Pets International Hamster Moon Glow Run About ball is made of sturdy hard plastic. It comes apart and snaps back together by turning the round disk at the end and then putting your pet in before snapping it back in to place. Once your hamster is in it, the closure won't come un done unless you do it. It is rather strong. Our hamsters get over low carpet, tile floor and wood floor with no problem.
Do they like it?
Both of our hamsters seem to like it. The can be free to explore any room they would like to go in with out the risk of being hurt. We do have other animals so this protects them should they cross paths too. It does give them some thing to do. I would imagine a life cooped up in a cage or tank all the time is not all that amusing. At least they can get variety this way and have a little extra freedom.
Do you recommend this ball?
Yes I do recommend it. I feel that it is a good thing to have for hamsters, gerbils or mice. Any thing small like that could benefit from this ball. I love that the hamsters have more room to explore. And it really does make it easier to clean out their cage if they are not in it. This provides them a safe place to play while we get their house cleaned up twice per week. We don't have to stop what we are doing to check on them, we know that they are roaming about in the balls and are fine.
Every one wants their pets to be safe, to have freedom, to see them have fun, to enjoy them a lot more and to be able to get proper exercise. The Pets International Hamster Moon Glow Run About balls provide that for my kid's pets. That is vital for me, them and their pets too. That is why I think this ball is great to have and would recommend it.
