Yoda. Yoda is perhaps the most powerful of all the Jedi (I guess not Anakin, but he stops being a Jedi). All of the other Jedi respect him immensely and acknowledge him as the wisest and best swordsman. After Episodes IV - VI I was kind of wondering why Yoda did not get off his keester and do something himself instead of just letting not-yet-ready Luke go off and get his hand chopped. It looks like my questions will be answered in Episode III. In the trailer Yoda is seen fighting with the emperor. I am guessing we are going to see how he gets chased off and why he doesn't come back.
I am reviewing Yoda firing cannon, not to be confused with Yoda spinning attack. He is figure number 3 and a member of the collection number 1 in the Revenge of the Sith series. Yoda has been plentiful in the stores I have been to so you won't have to jump when you see him. Since I am collecting Yoda, I will leave him in the security of his package. This figure is not recommended for children under the age of four because the small pieces can be a choking hazard. As far as the durability of this series of figures, well I don't open them. But I did open some from Episode I and I can tell you from past experience that the small weapons and accessories will get lost. As a boy I tried so hard to keep track of them and just failed. Slowly but surely the guns and lightsabers disappeared. By and large the figures are durable. The heads can be popped off by abuse or a determined push (for those with heads that rotate), and the hands can be chewed until they no longer function. That is my best guess as to how well this series will hold up.
I think Yoda, not counting the cannon, is one of the more basic figures. The figures in this series are normally 3.75 inches tall. Yoda is not of normal height and although I don't see it on the package I would guess his height at about 2 inches. His skin color is green. Yoda has long pointed ears and a creased, bumpy head. Yoda is wearing a removable off white cloak made of molded plastic over brown Jedi robes, also made of molded plastic. Yoda's hands and feet end in 3 digits rather than five and his fingers and toes resemble claws to some degree.Yoda has joints at the shoulders, elbows, hips, waste and wrists. He sports a short green lightsaber. This Yoda does not come with an action move, but he does come with a cannon that you can set up. The cannon fires a plastic laser bolt and Yoda is configured to shoot the cannon. By that I mean he sets up in front of it, can grasp the handles and basically look as though he is operating the cannon. The detail on the Yoda figure is exceptional. His head is so detailed you can see every crease and bump. The likeness very closely matches the photo on the box.
Yoda appears in most of the movies in this saga including the next one. He is a member of the Jedi Council and later a mentor to Luke. Part of his role in the upcoming movie is explained on the package...
The wise Jedi Master Yoda leads the Republic's clone army into battle on the Wookie world of Kashyyk. He is assisted in this fateful mission by mighty Wookie warriors Chewbacca and Tarful.
I guess while Yoda is off fighting the war Palpatine is figuring out how to kill off Jedi.
As one of the main characters of the entire series Yoda rates a purchase if you are going to buy more than a couple figures. The detail on this figure is very nice and I recommend it.
