| hydraspine's Full Review: Head and Shoulders Dry Scalp |
Before finally trying Head and Shoulders shampoo, I can honestly say my scalp was in a loathsome condition. I had persistent itching and an excess of annoying dandruff that just wouldnt go the hell. Oh man was it embarrassing, wearing my favorite black shirt and constantly having to brush dandruff of my shoulders to avoid people noticing. I still cant believe I hadnt discovered this shampoo earlier.
Head and Shoulders shampoo is basically an all around general shampoo for your hair, except that it also has ingredients in that help moisturize the scalp and help control dandruff. The main ingredient that is responsible for fulfilling this duty is Pyrithione Zinc. Pyrithione Zinc is an active ingredient used to treat dandruff, seborrhea and minor fungus infections of the scalp and skin.
Using Head and Shoulders shampoo isnt different from using any other shampoo; you apply it to your hair, massage it into your scalp for a few seconds and rinse. Repeating is not necessary unless desired. All that it asks is that you use it at least 2 times a week to reap its full benefits. The shampoo itself has a very delightful fragrance to it, somewhat hinting of perfume or cologne. It is not offensive by any means, but some might not prefer it.
I started using the shampoo about two years ago, when my scalp was at its worst. Even before a week had elapsed the condition of my scalp was much healthier. Best of all though, dandruff entirely ceased to exist. It was like my problem had just magically vanished and I had one less stupid thing to worry about. Furthermore, I was completely digging the shampoo just for its incredible cleaning ability. The shampoo leaves your hair absolutely free of grease, soft and manageable. Of course the fact exists that no one is the same, so the worst case scenario is that it might not work for you. Some people have complained of it not working effectively enough, so I definitely wont rule that out.
My slight annoyances :
I love this shampoo, but I do wish it didnt leave my hair so soft. I have really thin hair and often after I use Head and Shoulders I have trouble controlling it. So if you have thin hair it might leave it somewhat difficult to manage. That said, I would probably recommend using a conditioner of some kind to make it more manageable.
Finally, if youre using Head and Shoulders and it somehow manages to find its way to your eye, it will hurt like a b*tch - to say the least. Just avoid eye contact by any means and youll be fine
So in conclusion, if youre suffering from the same problem I once was, walk to the Supermarket and buy just buy the shampoo already. Its not as if you have something to lose anyhow, unless of course
never mind just go and buy it.
