Pros: fast, high screen resolution
Cons: unreliable disks, nipple mouse drifts, port replicator dodgy
The Bottom Line: For this price I would expect something better. Still this isn't a bad machine.

| Orik's Full Review: Lenovo ThinkPad T21 2648 (26488BU) PC Notebook |
There is no doubt that T21 is a good laptop. It is more than likely to be better than even your average desktop and I am using it as both. However, while using it, I've encountered several problems that should't occur at this price range:
1. Using the port replicator, sometimes the laptop just won't recognize the fact that it has an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Other times it will only identify one of them and on occasion, everything will seem to work, but the external keyboard will just be very slow (i.e. the key repeat rate becomes very low). There is no solution that I know of except restarting the machine.
2. My first hard disk (20GB) started clicking and beeping like mad. It passed IBMs tests with flying colors, but it worried me too much so I switched to a new 50GB disk. This one seems to have a woodpecker inside...
3. The nipple mouse sometimes drifts. This has always been a problem with Thinkpad mice, but I just can't understand why we should buy a machine at this price range and still suffer from this.
