Our New Joy In Life:
…..Just last week, my mother and gram went out to do some shopping and eat. Well, a few hours later, they come in the door with Taz, a two-pound Shih Tzu. Their idea of shopping seems a little different than most of ours. But anyway, we now have ourselves a cute little five-week-old puppy. He’s cute, especially when tries to run on his two inch legs.
…..One of the most important things that you should pay attention to when you are shopping for doggy stuff is dog food of course. The person whom my mother got Taz said that she had fed him Iams Puppy Formula for his five weeks on the big blue and green. My mom bought a few cans. Our puppy is about the size of the Iams can itself and so one can will last a few days. He will only eat about a quarter cup a day. Also, he can’t eat any hard food since he has no teeth yet. So what we do is put a small scoop of Iams Puppy Formula into a little bowl and put some Iams hard food mixed with it. We put a little water in it a nuke it for ten seconds this way, the hard food gets softer for him to eat.
…..Iams puppy formula is a slow-cooked food made in broth. If you ask me though, I’d say it was made in a two-ton batch with machines throwing it around.
…..Iams pet foods ca be purchased at a variety of locations. We got these at PetSmart I think, but they have it basically everywhere: Target, Wal-Mart, Sams Club, etc. The average cost is about just short a dollar. Maybe $0.89 cents if I had to take a gander.
Well, What’s Taz’s Reaction:
…..I didn’t think that he would like it at first, but I guess I can’t judge it by looks – and I must say this stuff doesn’t win the best looking reward here. My mom prepared some food for Taz. When we sat the dish down on his mat, he went right over to it and started digging in. I am assuming from his chowing that he likes it. He doesn’t eat too much, but then again, he is only two pounds. He doesn’t seem to have a problem with it, teeth or not.
…..Best of all, Iams Puppy Formula doesn’t give our puppy the runny poo as some dogs seem to experience with this brand. I think it really depends on the puppy you have. Some people will complain that this type of food gives their dogs the runs. I haven’t had that problem yet.
On The Outside:
…..Like most products, Iams products stick out well with their golden-yellowishy label. The can is the same as any can of soup in your cupboard, except Campbells. The label is mostly yellow with a golden-brown ring running amongst the top. On the front, there is the IAMS name in big letters written vertically with a picture of puppies and the can weight and type. On the back is the list of ingredients (in French and English), serving sizes, contact information and a barcode. These cans fit nicely in our canned food cupboard in the kitchen.

…..Iams Puppy Formula lists in at 35 ingredients. I have listed all the ingredients for you to see to make sure that this type of dog food is ok for your pet to have. It is important to check the ingredients to see if there are any ingredients that your puppy may have problems wit or whatever. Here goes:

Am I Satisfied?
…..Though this brand of puppy food looks pretty much like poo, I like it, and I believe Taz likes it too. When we put it in his dish, he runs right to it and chows down into it. He seems to be happy with it and that makes me satisfied enough to keep on getting it. It may not be the cheapest brand on the shelf at Petsmart, or the most expensive, but I think it is worth the eighty cents a can we pay for it. And most importantly, it doesn’t give our little Shih Tzu the, how do you say, runs.
