Pros: Smooth clear highs, very accurate mids, decent bass for a 4".
Cons: Large magnet, high tweeter. Not very durable. Rot in the heat.
The Bottom Line: If heat is not a problem in your area, these speakers are a good pick.

| rocksnbugs's Full Review: Infinity Reference 452i Coaxial Car Speaker |
I am a major advocate for Infinity speakers. They are the only speakers I own in bit my cars and inside my home. I had owned the previous generation of this speaker and was impressed with is so chose to give this design a try.
I had these in the dash and a set of the 5" speakers in the back of my 92" Toyota Corolla. They were a pain to install in the front because of the classic Toyota 4T size. I was able to work around this and also had to modify the stock grills for the tweeter to fit behind.
The Plus One Woofer extends the usable bass to lower than you would expect from a 4" speaker. The mids are extremely accurate and warm, especially in orchestral and vocal passages. The highs are sharp and rich with out a touch of harshness. Overall this speaker is a very nice and a good alternative if you can not afford Infinity's Kappa Series.
My ONLY major beef with this generation of Reference speakers is the lack of durability their other speakers have. After about 6 months the speakers started to lack the warmth and clarity they had. I also noticed a sharp buzzing through bass passages. I pulled the grills off and all four speakers had rotted from the heat of being in a car. I sent them back to Infinity. They said they missed the UV coating during the manufacturing process and sent me a new set. After about a year, conveniently after the warranty expired, the second set did the exact same thing. I hope I was just unlucky and others have not had this same problem.
